MC Mary Kom is among the most decorated boxers in Indian sporting history. She is a six-time World Amateur Boxing Champion, winning gold at the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships six times, and won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics after flyweight boxing was introduced to the Games.
She has won Asian Games gold and multiple Asian Championship titles, has been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan, and was nominated to the Rajya Sabha. The 2014 Hindi biopic Mary Kom brought her story to a much wider audience.
She speaks, often in simple Hindi and English, about growing up in Manipur, balancing motherhood with training, and the generational work of building combat sports for Indian women.
