Geeta Phogat
First Indian woman to win Commonwealth Games wrestling gold; first to qualify for the Olympics in wrestling.
Geeta Phogat is an Indian freestyle wrestler and the eldest of the Phogat wrestling sisters. She became the first Indian woman to win Commonwealth Games wrestling gold, at the 2010 Delhi Games in the 55 kg category, and the first Indian woman to qualify for the Olympics in wrestling, at London 2012.
She has medalled at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships and the Asian Wrestling Championships, and her early career - alongside that of sister Babita Phogat - is central to the story dramatised in the 2016 Hindi film Dangal. She has been awarded the Arjuna Award.
