Captain Yashika Hatwal Tyagi is a former Indian Army officer and Kargil War veteran. Commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps, she was deployed forward during the 1999 Kargil conflict and is recognised among the earliest Indian women officers to have served on active duty during the war.
After her service she has built a public platform as a speaker and has been profiled across Indian media in the context of women's participation in the Indian armed forces. Her talks draw on specific wartime experiences as well as the everyday realities of early Indian women officers.
