Kargil veteran and India's first blade runner - amputee marathoner and motivational speaker.
Major D.P. Singh is a Kargil War veteran of the Indian Army who was seriously wounded in action in 1999, leading to the amputation of his right leg. After years of rehabilitation he became a long-distance runner and is widely known as India's first blade runner, having completed multiple marathons on a running blade.
He is the founder of The Challenging Ones, a community of disabled athletes, and has been honoured by the Government of India and by various civil-society institutions for his work. He is also the author of a published memoir on his recovery and running years.
He speaks on resilience, recovery from severe injury, disability and sport, and leadership lessons from service and from returning to action as an amputee.
